Knight Mark Barlow

Last night saw the Installation of a new Knight into Plains of Tabor Preceptory N0. 11, stationed at Colne, Knight Mark Barlow
In the absence of the Eminent Preceptor (who is sunning himself in Cuba) Eminent Knight John Hudson, Past Provincial Almoner, took the chair and the ceremony was split between seven other Knights, which proved a complete success
The Right Eminent Provincial Prior performed the accolade using the ‘Lathom’ sword
Nineteen Knights including three visitors, two of whom were from the Province of West Yorkshire enjoyed a very convivial festive board whichfollowed. It consisting of chilli con carni. a sweet and a rather excellent (and free) beer supplied by Eminent Knight Michael Whittaker. Past Provincial 2nd, Constable (who owns a micro-brewery)
The newly installed Knight responded suitably to the toast to his health. All in all a night to remember

The main reason that the Great Seneschal was visiting for the second year in succession was that there was a presentation mid way through the proceedings by the Great Seneschal to Right Eminent Knight Jack Forsyth K C T to mark his 50 years in Knights Templar. This was a very popular interlude and highly appreciated by all the present Knights

The officers were invested and the meeting closed at 1 pm. During the Festive Board presentations and gifts were made to all three visiting dignitaries from London.

The second Great Officers Mess was held at Leyland on Monday April 23rd. 29 Great Officers attended against 38 last year.
We deliberately targetted St. George’s Day but there was another Masonic Meeting on the date so we may reveiew for next Year.
A pleasant time was had by all with four tables and no seating plan which meant that everyone sat with someone that they probably had not met before in an in depth way. A nice touch was the provision of Red Roses for every attendee by E. Knight David Bell. We met at 12-30 for dining at 1pm. and everyone was on their way home by 2-30pm. after having had a lovely afternoon.

EKt. Keith Young, EKt. Ian Toomey and EKt. Stuart Brackstone

First Constable Keith Young visited the St John of Jerusalem No17 encampment at Ulverston for their Installation Meeting which was held on the 27th February 2012. No 17 has as its usual practice the habit of installing the Eminent Preceptor and then opening in the Malta degree to install the Prior and this meeting was no exception. The Installing Preceptor Stuart Brackstone delivered a smooth and quiet ceremony installing his successor Kt Ian Toomey in good form. He then repeated the performance in the Malta Degree.
E Kt A James P.Pr.Ist Cons. was pleased to present Grand Priory to two recipients an action followed in the Malta with Prov Chancellor Mike Southworth presenting three Malta Certificates.
The Preceptory currently has three candidates waiting in the wings and should enjoy a full work load for the year.
